Jesús Alonso

Jesús Alonso is a Puerto Rican trumpet player whose versatile career spans salsa, merengue, jazz, classical music, and contemporary Latin productions. He began studying music at age eleven at the Escuela Libre de Música de Carolina, Puerto Rico, where he developed the technique and musical foundation that would lead to an extensive career as a recording and touring musician.

Jesús has performed or recorded with internationally recognized artists including Juan Luis Guerra and 4.40, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Elvis Crespo, Jerry Rivera, Olga Tañón, Víctor Manuelle, Grupo Manía, Luis Enrique, and Rey Ruiz. His recording credits include projects recognized by the Latin Grammys, the Billboard Music Awards, and Premio Lo Nuestro.

Equally comfortable in the recording studio and on the concert stage, Jesús is known for his versatility, powerful sound, and ability to move naturally between traditional salsa, popular Latin music, jazz, and orchestral settings.
